About Me
I am a natural born coach, teacher and a lifelong learner. When I find something I love, I feel compelled to learn as much as possible about it and teach or coach it. I fell in love with rowing in high school and have been coaching rowing for 25 years. In 2007 I started competing in triathlon and in 2019 became a certified triathlon coach. Currently I work part time as the Lead Personal Coach for Hydrow. I also hold certifications in personal training from NASM, indoor cycling, indoor rowing as well as life coaching. With a minor in education and years worth of classroom and athletic coaching experience, I am not just another athlete turned coach.
I compete annually in dozens of regattas and triathlons and have taught hundreds of indoor cycling and indoor rowing classes. I am a FISA Master's World Championship gold medal holder in Women's double sculls (2018) as well as a USRowing Master's National gold medal holder in Women's quadruple sculls (2019) and Mixed double sculls (2021).
I am 50 years old and quite honestly, in the best physical and mental shape of my life.
I believe that education is the most important component in creating a successful coaching relationship. An athlete is more likely to train smarter with a lesser chance of injury and adhere to a training plan if they understand the HOW, WHAT, WHEN and WHY behind the plan.
Good coaching is results driven and starts with a goal. How you get to the goal is why working with a coach is essential. I begin with an assessment of current abilities and knowledge of all of my clients to create and deliver thorough and results-driven coaching.
